Abstract :
NTT has developed a remote supervision system for power equipment. This system, which is installed in a power maintenance center, makes it possible to effectively supervise power equipment and to automate routine maintenance tasks in telephone offices. This system can provide access to a maximum of 32 telephone offices, monitor up to 384 alarm points and measure up to 96 points in the power equipment in each office. NTT is now promoting centralized maintenance system for power equipment in order to rationalize the power maintenance operation. Therefore, the systems have been introduced to achieve more effective maintenance in offices where there are no power maintenance personnel assigned. This paper discusses the state of the existing centralized power supervision system in NTT and the newly developed remote supervision system.
