DRO-1 A Supervision and Control Unit for Power Plants

Increase of the operational reliability and decrease of the operational and maintenance costs for power supply plants can be realized through a continuous supervision and control of the most important functions of the power supply plant. This paper describes a supervision and control unit, called DRO-1, developed by Jutland Telephone Company. The DRO-1, which has been developed especially for supervision and control of DC power supply plants with battery back-up, is based on the know-how and the needs acquired by Jutland Telephone through many years´ operation of approx. 800 power supply plants. Though the DRO-1 has been developed especially for telecommunication power supply plants it is so flexible that it will be applicable for supervision and control of other types of power supply plants with battery back-up plus control of air conditioning or energy management functions.
