  • Abstract
As example for the performance of the Lithium-Sulfurdioxide-System two possibilities of application concerning telecommunication will be presented. For application as CMOS-memory back-up the storage capability and run under weak load over a couple of years will be illustrated and safety aspects for use and handling will be pointed out. All data refer to the smallest cell type - 1/2 AA. Portable telecommunication equipment requires high energy density over a wide temperature range with maximum of safety. These qualities given by the Li-SO2-system will be illustrated at the G2O cell (size D) and the costs of this system in comparison to traditional aqueous systems will be approximated.
