Abstract
Since the development of electronic telecommunication systems started the heat concentration has increased from about 100W/m2 and will continue to increase. A reliabLe cooling system is therefore essential for the performance of the switching equipment. Ericsson, as one of the largest suppliers of telecommunication equipment and services, took the consequences and decided to develop its own cooling system. It was the first and still is the only telecommunication company with an own-developed cooling system, ERICOOL. This paper describes first briefly the system and the design criterias. In the second part there will be feed-back from the field related to the design criterias. The further developments of the system and the different applications are described in the last part.
