Abstract :
Although development of power supply of SCUs was not the main target of the BIGFON concept a number of important hints for further studies on subscriber connection systems is given. The solutions set up in the BIGFON trial show that it is possible to fulfill the requirements of integrated systems even at the present time. But it is also shown that in connection with the development of transmission technics further progress in the field of power supply systems can be reached. We are convinced that this is possible if the authorities give the right impulse that means ask for a big amount of such systems. Beside the demand of moving-picture-services a change of the used circuit technology from ECL to CMOS structures - down to the sub-u-region - also for high bitrates like 150 Mbit/s is essential. The number is figured out by the studies on ISDN-B carried out up to now. (1) Karl-Ernst Kneisel, BIGFON-Vergleich der verschiedenen Systemlösungen, ntz Bd. 36 (1983) Heft 7 (2) Klaus D.
