Abstract
The ECM Signal Monitor (ESIM), which was designed and constructed to monitor the IF and baseband outputs of wideband digital radios, is described. The ESIM system utilizes the wideband radio outputs to determine if the monitored radio is being jammed, and characterizes the type and intensity of the jamming, if present. The hardware and software elements of the ESIM are described, as are the ESIM jammer detection and characterization algorithms. Future applications of ECM signal monitoring and the ESIM are discussed.
