Abstract
The Defense Switched Network (DSN) will evolve to conform to the guidelines set forth by the Worldwide Digital System Architecture (WWDSA). The WWDSA can be summarized by 14 key features, all of which were approved by the JCS last year for DoD telecommunications planning. Some of the features will be included in the DSN when it first becomes operational, while others require further development and cannot be implemented until the 1990´s. A description of the WWDSA and its 14 key features is presented, and the means and timing of WWDSA feature implementation in the DSN are discussed.
