  • Abstract
    Direct broadcast-satellite (DBS) services require a reliable, secure transmission system for video, audio and control signals. This paper describes a transmission system developed by General Instrument of Canada Ltd. This system provides one scrambled video channel, two encrypted audio channels and one encrypted control data channel. The receiving terminals can be addressed and controlled individually.
