Forward Converters Operating Directly off the Three Phase Rectified Mains Suitable for Exchange Use

Current developments in the components for high voltage switching power supplies now permit operation directly from the three phase rectified mains supply. In particular, the basic performance requirements will be given for modular telecommunications power plant with particular reference to the external performance parameters e.g. ripple, noise. efficiency. General solutions will be given and also from a comparison of the relative merits of these a specific design will be detailed. Particular reference will be made to alternative solutions to the various problems met with in switching power supply design.
