Abstract :
In this paper, we will consider the joint source and channel coding problem and propose a double-level error resilient scheme of joint source and channel coding. Compared to other joint source and channel coding schemes, we insert one coordination structure named error resilient entropy coding between source coding and channel coding to achieve additional error resilient capability. Using arithmetic coding based on forbidden symbol and standard LDPC code, we prove that, in coding redundancy and computational complexity, our scheme outperforms either separate source and channel coding scheme or joint source and channel coding scheme with synchronization words.
