Abstract
Stereoscopic video bring people more actual 3D scene feeling, while it also makes bitrates increase largely. To reduce bitrates is highly emphasized in stereoscopic video encoding. In the current stereo video coding scheme, the two views channels have the same spatial resolution. In order to raise the coding efficiency, an asymmetric stereoscopic video encoding algorithm of based on joint compensation prediction is proposed in this paper, using different spatial resolution of the two view channels. And in encoding the lower images phase, a low complexity prediction mode is proposed. Experimental result indicates that this proposed algorithm is more efficient than JMVM algorithm while the coding complexity is also dropped.
