Abstract
U.S. Government directives requiring secure operating systems are quoted along with the general procedures for certifying the security level of an operating system. Gould Inc., Computer Systems Division´s goals and latest accomplishments in providing commercially available versions of secure UNIX* operating systems are presented along with descriptions of the differences between standard UNIX* and secure versions.
