Abstract
A modern road vehicle has a substantial electrical loading, due to the increased demand for items such as power windows and power steering, and the fuel economy improvements available from an integrated electric drivetrain. The machine type and topology for an Integrated Starter Generator are discussed, along with system voltage ranging from 42 V to 350 V, performance, efficiency, and mechanical integration and thermal management of a proposed machine.
