Abstract

It is important issue to support emergency service in VoIP, because many users want to use the emergency service like PSTN network. Emergency Service for VoIP is provided through PSTN network in Korea, only audio data can get to the emergency agent. VoIP terminals can create and send audio and video and image in the emergency call because of the VoIP terminal capabilities. Unfortunately the existing mechanism to support emergency call is not appropriate to transfer multimedia data to emergency agent. If PSAP gets video date as well as audio, it will be very useful to rescue somebody who is in dangerous. In this paper, we will consider and suggest the method to support the multimedia services to PSAP in VoIP emergency call.
