Establishment of cross-layer trust model for ad hoc networks

Building trust has been recognized as a new security approach for wireless distributed networks; however, cooperation among separate layers is given little consideration. The paper provides a cross-layer trust model for ad hoc networks to enhance the system securities. Six modules are constructed to build a trust model. The trust model can collect trust value not only from other entities in the same layer or sublayer, but also from higher or lower layer. Trust values assist to make decision.
