Abstract :
ROADM (reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexing) provides dynamic channel add/drop operation by variable filter and/or intelligent software. Service providers need reliable and efficient transmission system to minimize Opex/Capex and potential error from manual administrative operations. In our system, wavelength selective switch (WSS) and one-click provision function contribute to reduce installation and provision time from unit of days to seconds with high reliability. There are three types of provisioning algorithm: automatic, user assigned port, user routed path. First algorithm is real automatic Routing, Wavelength Assignment (RWA) that operators click TPa, TPz, and bandwidth only. Second, if user wants to use a specific client port for setup a path, operator start to click an available port. This is useful to manage physical port availability. Finally, user routed path is possible to setup instead of shortest path. This is from user requirements to select a specific direction in dynamic connection environment. This paper shows how to satisfy customers by point-and-click provisioning in ROADM network management view.
