Abstract :
Multicast patching is one of the techniques to reduce the burden of a video on demand (VOD) server. A novel patching mechanism by using multi-homing has placed its logical channel into another network interface of a client terminal. The performance of proposed patching mechanism is presented via numerical analysis. In summary, our proposed scheme modifies multicast patching model using extended client buffer and proxy.
