Abstract :
One of the most typical representations of the current sense transformer model is the linear model, comprising an ideal transformer, magnetizing inductance and distributed winding capacitance. The magnetizing inductance models the magnetization of the core based on the assumption of a linear relation between the magnetic H and B field. However in reality, the core material exhibits hysteretic and non-linear behaviour, and the magnetizing current can only be evaluated using hardware experiments. Correspondingly, the topic of this paper aims to investigate the accuracy of the linear current sense transformer model in the quantification of the magnetizing current by comparing those obtained by experimental results with that predicted by the linear model.
