Introduction to the Special Issue

The articles in this special section focus on terahertz nanomaterials and applications and the development of nanoscale structures. Like terahertz, the field of nanoscale science and technology has a cross disciplinary footprint. In particular, nanomaterials have found applications across a wide range of fields within the RF and microwave communities. In particular, strong progress has been made in areas such as RF nanoelectronics, nano-packaging and nano-interconnects, as well as RF nanoscale metrology. Building upon that progress, the time has come to follow the spirit embodied in this journal???s motto, and expand beyond the RF and microwave regimes and engage the nanoscale world as it applies to the terahertz bands.
