  • Abstract
    In this paper, we focus on retransmission following transmission failure in an impulse radio ultra wideband (IR-UWB) system. The causes of transmission failure are classified and a new ldquoselfishrdquo retransmission protocol is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol improves throughput by up to 100% and decreases retransmission delay by up to 70% compared with a conventional retransmission system.
