Abstract
This paper derives the tight performance bound for average bit error probability (ABEP) of binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation and multiple amplitude modulation (M-AM), using variable gain relaying, over non-identical Nakagami-m fading channel. Additionally, we present other performance measures including approximate moments and amounts of fading (AoF). Numerical and simulation results show that the deduced performance bound is a tight lower bound especially at medium and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
