Abstract :
Large thinned arrays are synthesized by using genetic algorithms. It is pointed in this paper that in order to obtain good solutions in reasonable time, fitness function must be properly chosen. To accelerate the convergence of GA, statistical thinning technique can be used to generate the initial populations of genetic algorithms.
