  • Abstract
    In this paper, a patent pending sectored antenna array is proposed for indoor mono-station ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning application. The antenna array is composed of six antenna elements which are hexagonally positioned to provide a 360deg coverage. Each antenna element features a peak-amplitude pattern beamwidth of 69deg, gain of 3.5-6.0 dBi, and VSWR < 2 over 2.9-6.0 GHz. The compact antenna array (120 times 120 times 50 mm) has been applied to an indoor mono-station UWB positioning system which is able to achieve an accuracy of 2 cm in range and 1deg in direction.
