Abstract :
In this paper, we derive the distance criterion and minimum capacity expressions of a dual polarized 4times4 Line Of Sight (LOS) MIMO channel with linear arrays. The capacity oscillates between two bounds as function of spacing between the antennas for a fixed separation between the transmitter and receiver. The effect of beam width of the individual elements on the capacity is also analyzed. When the simulation is run for the same average SNR, It is found that the MIMO gain is not significantly affected. We also analyzed how the capacity varies when the receiver array is displaced from its optimum position.
