Abstract
The radar cross section RCS is a useful figure for the characterization of objects in space for radar systems. Electrically large objects on the ground, such as wind turbines WT, do not meet the basic conditions of a plane wave excitation. Measured or calculated RCS according to the standard definition cannot be used for safeguarding and the characterization of WT.
