  • Abstract
Wideband mm-wave end-fire and planar log-periodic antennas compatible with a recently developed surface micromachined process known as PolyStratatrade are discussed in this paper. Two embodiments of each log-periodic type are developed. Specifically, an instantaneous 2-110 GHz and a dual-band 18-50 GHz and 75-110 GHz planar log-periodic antennas with integrated rectangular micro-coaxial feeds/impedance transformers and VSWR < 2.5:1 are designed. An instantaneous 18-110 GHz and a dual-band 18-50 GHz and 75-110 GHz end-fire log-periodic dipole antennas with VSWR < 1.5:1 are also demonstrated. The antennas and integrated feeds are modelled using a finite element code HFSS and are verified with a method of moments code FEKO or a finite integration code CST.
