Abstract
We present in this paper a new type of multibeam EBG antenna for telecommunication networks. A first antenna structure, operating in WiMAX band [5.4 - 5.7] GHz is simulated and its results are disclosed. These results show us that the mutual coupling between different excitation sources is too strong and it influences badly the performance of the antenna. Thus, metallic walls are inserted between excitation sources in order to reduce the mutual coupling. The new antenna structure is simulated, and its performance is improved. The beam number in the horizontal plane is 18.
