Current and future directions in ocean education at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership

This paper is an overview of current educational partnerships and initiatives at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership. Our goal is to describe the high quality existing educational initiatives managed by our organization and provide information on a strategic education development and implementation plan being crafted by Ocean Leadership staff with input from a working group of the organization´s Board of Trustees and Member Representatives. We will also focus on ways that we believe Ocean Leadership can collaborate with the Marine Education Technical Committee and the National Office staff of the Marine Technology Society. The final one-third of the presentation will be a facilitated discussion with the audience to gain a better perspective on what the broader ocean education and technology community sees as the highest educational priorities and the best opportunities for future collaboration.
