Abstract :
Using structure-grouping method, this paper presents a model to realize the automation of designing complex mechanism at the phase of conceptual design. In the process of carrying out this model, several key techniques, namely, representing basic structures, mapping function to structures, assembling basic structures, computerizing and displaying symbolic solutions have been discussed. The effectiveness of this model has also been shown through a case study.
