Abstract :
Combination of Assur groups is one of important methods in conceptual design of planar linkage mechanisms. Although there are not many researches in this arena, the authors attempt to address two fundamental problems associated with the combination of Assur groups: 1) description and reorganization of Assur groups and other kind of groups; 2) Combination compatibility among Assur groups. The paper also presents a couple of examples to demonstrate how to realize the design by using the methods described.
