Abstract :
High-level RF design based on behaviorally described models using VHDL-AMS allows the evaluation of the performance of the architecture and system at an early stage. It also serves as the top-down design methodology in a familiar circuit design environment. In this paper we present VHDL-AMS based models of reader and tag which are designed to operate in the 2.45GHz frequency band. The models have been implemented and simulated with ADVance MS (ADMS) from Mentor Graphics. We present the results we obtained, in terms of performance and accuracy. The methodology that we deployed increased the confidence in silicon success and allowed on time delivery.
