            Abstract : 
The performance of direct sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) RAKE reception is severely degraded by interpath interference (IPI), which in general consists of intersymbol interference (ISI) and interchip interference (ICI). Based on similarities between the signals of asynchronous CDMA systems and the signals received by UWB RAKE receivers, especially partial combining RAKE (PRAKE) receiver, decorrelating algorithm is introduced to combat IPI. Sliding window approach is utilized for implementation of the decorrelator. Computer simulations under the channel model proposed by IEEE 802.15.3a verify the effectiveness of the decorrelating scheme.
