Abstract :
Under fast fading time-variant channel, the orthogonality between sub-carriers of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is destroyed resulting in inter-carrier interference (ICI). In multiple input multiple out orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system, due to interference from different antennas, another interference, co-channel interference (CCI) exists. Both interferences make the performance of MIMO-OFDM system degrade under fast fading channel. A novel joint interference cancellation technique is proposed in this paper for space-time block coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STBC-OFDM) system to suppress the ICI and CCI at the same time to improve the system performance.
