  • Abstract
    Single-carrier transmission has been accepted for the E-UTRA uplink transmission scheme [1]. Frequency-domain generation of the single-carrier signal, which is called as DFT-spread OFDM, is a current assumption in SC-FDMA radio access since it achieves high commonality in parameter design to OFDM-based radio access in the downlink. DFT-S-OFDM allows for further power de-rating reduction. Spectrum shaping filtering can be used to further reduce the power de-rating of DFT-S-OFDM in frequency domain processing. Another candidate for power de-rating reduction is the FFT input pre-processing technique. In this paper, we give comparison of PAPR/CM performance of the two algorithms for power de-rating reduction, and also discuss the bit-error-rate (BER) influences of the two algorithms.
