Abstract :
In this paper, we consider a multi-user Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) communication system which employs Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and zero-forcing equalizers. We use convex optimization techniques to substantially simplify our early designs of multi-user transceivers which were based on solving a Semidefinite Programming (SDP) subproblem in each iteration [1]. In particular, we use OFDM structure to transform the SDP subproblems into Second Order Cone Programming (SOCP) problems, resulting in simple diagonal multi-user transceiver designs. Such a transformation has led to a substantial reduction in the computational complexity. Computer simulations through SeDuMi software show that the devised transceivers have much more superior mean square error performance than the existing transceivers.
