  • Abstract
This paper derives closed-form formulas for the average bit-error rate (BER) of orthogonal frequency-division multiplex (OFDM) system with BPSK signal on M-branch frequency-selective correlated Nakagami fading channels with an arbitrary branch covariance. By using the well-known moment generating function-based analysis approach, the resulting expressions for the average BER can be expressed in terms of Lauricella´s multivariate hypergeometric function, which can be easily evaluated numerically. The results are used to investigate the effect of the antenna array configuration (e.g., the number of receive antennas, the antenna element separation), and the operating environment (such as the fading severity, the number of multipath taps, angular spread) on the average BER of OFDM systems.
