Abstract :
The applications based on Ethernet, such as aircraft operation, weapon simulator, increase with rapid Ethernet development. This kind of application asks for a strict real-time audio transmission. This paper discusses three factors of RTP/UDP/IP protocol, data packet transmission and audio data buffer management, which have remarkable effect on the performance of real-time audio transmission over Ethernet. Then the paper presents a set of effective method to improve the real-time capability of audio transmission, and provides the practical testing result of new method.
