Abstract :
In this paper, a new content based JPEG2000 coding scheme for codestream extraction is proposed. In this scheme, we can assign any bit-rate to any number of regions with any shapes, and for the efficiency of compression, different content region (such as natural image, graph or text image) can be compressed in any set order and using different visual-weights mechanism. Most importantly, for the source file compressed using this scheme, we can extract codestream of different region from it more easily and quickly, which enables this scheme applicable in many fields. For example it can simplify many interactive applications dramatically.
