Abstract :
In this paper, a frequency domain equalizer is proposed for IEEE802.16-2004 Standard LOS (line-of-sight) single-carrier transmission mode. Transmission packets in this mode are not equipped with CP (cyclic prefix), so technique is needed to decrease the SER (symbol estimation error) caused by circularly de-convoluting a linear channel convolution process. Several structures to apply FDE (frequency domain equalization) are presented using overlap-save processing in different ways based on the FFT operation, which also enjoys the computational efficiency. A new approach is presented by performing sectioning frame processing. Simulation results show that this practical architecture has almost the same performance as the conventional one. The complexity and hardware resources of this equalization algorithm which has been implemented on FPGA can be significantly reduced.
