Abstract :
This paper presents a direct-up conversion transmitter (DCT) architecture scheme, which satisfies the requirements of the 3G WCDMA mobile phone system based on 3GPP technique specifications. Firstly, the DCT architecture for WCDMA handset is evaluated and analyzed in detail. Then, the key problems of DCT, which is implemented in WCDMA systems, are analyzed and simulated with the tool of ADS software, and also the solutions or rather design considerations on these problems are given, then. From the studies above, some useful results for future studies and designs have been achieved. Finally, the prospect of direct-up conversion architecture is given boldly.
