Abstract :
A dual dynamic threshold access scheme for handoff prioritization is proposed. By dynamically adjusting the value of both thresholds, the system resource utilization can be improved with a better overall system award. Two-dimensional Markov process traffic models for cellular mobile systems are formulated and analyzed. It is verified by the numerical simulations that the DDT-GC-VBR scheme can provide the necessary service guarantee. At the same time, it can decrease the handoff dropping probability and forced termination probability, while improve the system resource utilization.
