  • Abstract
    With a rapid development of communication and network, multimedia stream technology is adopted in many fields, but currently many media players are developed on DirectX SDK and they are only limited to run on the platform of x86 CPU and Windows OS platform. As video technology is widely used in embedded system, the hardware platform including PowerPC, ARM, XScale, MIPs, ADI DSP, TI DSP, TriMedia and the software platform including vxWorks, Embedded Linux, RTEMS, WinCE, and even no-OS chip require media player. This paper develops a general media player independent of hardware platform and software platform, which has important significance and practical value.
