Abstract
This paper gives a new active queue management algorithm which creates a dynamical Markov model according to the traffic loads to estimate the future queue size of router buffer and self-adjusts the parameters of well-known Random Early Detection (RED) to get better performance, so we call it Pre-Estimation RED, simply PERED. In PERED we present a new idea to control the congestion in networks: previous estimation. We demonstrate the improvement in performance of PERED by comparison with RED and an adaptive RED.
