Abstract
Closed-form expression for the probability density function of output signal-to-noise ratio of macroscopic maximal ratio combiner are derived by means of moment generating function and Gauss-Hermite quadrature, then outage performance is analyzed for different parameter schemes over Nakagami-Lognormal composite fading channels. The theoretical expressions are validated by numerical results. The results show that the performance of macroscopic maximal ratio combining is mainly impacted by shadowing. Considering unbalanced branches, the unbalance of shadowing and multipath fading slightly impact outage performance of macro-MRC, and area mean unbalance has a great influence on outage performance.
