Abstract :
Distributed denial-of-service attacks have become the major threat to wireless ad-hoc network. IP traceback plays a key role during defence against DDoS attacks. Several traceback schemes have been proposed for Internet, but they can not be directly applicable to wireless ad-hoc networks, where the nodes are mainly devices with limited bandwidth, computational resource, and unpredictable routing behaviors. In this paper, based on the probabilistic packet marking mechanism we proposed a logless fast IP traceback scheme, which has faster traceback speed than previous work and can be applicable to source traceback in wireless ad-hoc networks.
