Abstract :
Context-aware has become a key technology for the integration of the next generation network (NGN) and pervasive computing. In order to make network human-oriented, NGN services should be able to take advantage of context-aware technology to adapt to environmental changes, and minimize user attention. Thus, the context-aware framework should have the ability of capturing context information, context modeling, context interpretation, context management, and etc. In this paper, we break through the traditional sensors - applications mode and introduce the concept of context service. Then we provide Context-Aware General Service Model (CAGSM) for use in NGN. Its functional structure and implementation technologies are discussed in detail with applications scenarios included.
