  • Abstract
    This paper proposed a framework using a spatial-extended standardized SVG to implement a WebGIS project on the client side. It proceeds with creating the SVG-based representation model to make SVG support a complete representation of spatial information first, and then a spatial-extended standardized SVG is proposed for a spatial publishing framework on the client side. It is also important to mention some storage strategies such as SVG database and GML application schema and its management needed to improve the efficiency of the system. Finally, the workflow of the approach is showed. The experimental results shown, it is a feasible and practical SVG WebGIS in the implementation.
