Abstract :
Using the characteristics method to slove the unsteady flow with an ice-cover equations including continuity equation and momentum equation. Adding to consider the canal operation methods, boundary conditions can be got. So the process of the unsteady flow changes can be got by numerical simulation. Finally a suggestion about operation method is got that can be better to used to south-to-north water diversion projection. And also it points out the the calculation method of wetted perimeter in this case. So this research contributes to the canal system with an ice-cover automatation model.
