Abstract :
The relationship between the velocity discreteness ¿ and the venture degree of vehicle rear-end accidents on freeway and urban road is researched by NS model. We could get the following as the results of simulation: Firstly, the value of global standard deviation of velocity on freeway is bigger than the one on urban road. Secondly, the value of venture degree of rear-end accidents is added as the increase of the value of global standard deviation of velocity ¿, and the venture degree of rear-end accidents on urban road is more sensitive than the one on freeway. Thirdly, if we could set the values of average velocity as constants and only change the value of initial velocity discreteness¿0, we could conclude that the bigger the value of¿0, the bigger the value of m and the less safety to vehicles on the road.
