Abstract
A new method based on combination of the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method with nonlinear curve fitting method is proposed for weight-in-motion of vehicles to improve the precision of weight-in-motion(WIM) due to vibration from dynamic load. The analysis shows the proposed method can effectively reduce the impact of low-frequency load. The feasibility and effective of the proposed method in data processing of weight-in-motion of vehicles is shown by simulation and on-site experiment. The maximal deviation is less than 5% when the vehicle velocity is under 40 km/h.
